American Idol Season 8 Top 9 Performance Recap 3/31/09

This week, the contestants had the opportunity to pick any song from the top downloaded itunes list (which pretty much means any random song). The show kicked off with a forgettable performance by Anoop singing Usher's Caught Up. I mean, the guy can sing, but he's no Usher... it was kinda talent show-ish. Next, Megan sang a Lauren Hill cover of a Bob Marley song- whatever it was--- it was horrible. It was so bad that i didn't recognize it. Danny did a good job singing Rascal

"Remains of J"

This season has taken me on a major roller coaster ride. Rufus found out that Dan is not going to receive financial aid for Yale. Lily suggests that they move in together to save money. Lily also decides that she and Serena should throw Jenny a birthday party. The only issue is that Jenny doesn't want a party because she basically has no friends. Serena runs into Poppy (the Paris Hilton of Gossip Girl). Poppy basically makes Serena feel like a high school loser with no life, so Serena recruits Poppy to help her throw Jenny a cool, hip, non-high school party (even though Jenny doesn't want one). Meanwhile, Nate and Blair are starting to get serious (gross). Chuck has been following Blair, so he is well aware that her and Nate are back on. Chuck conspires with Vanessa to make Blair and Chuck jealous, so they decide to go to Jenny's party together. The party: since Jenny didn't want a party at all, she tries to ruin it by inviting everyone through Gossip Girl. A million kids show up and it turns into a complete mess. Meanwhile, Vanessa and Chuck kiss in front of Blair and Nate to try to make them jealous. Unfortunately, it doesn't work. It only makes Blair and Nate closer- they basically think that Vanessa and Chuck are borderline desperate. Meanwhile, Lily and Rufus show up and shut the party down. Lily explodes on Serena, blaming her for having a million kids at her house. Serena leaves (of course)... and eventually, Jenny admits that she's the one that invited everyone through Gossip Girl. Vanessa and Chuck leave together and do what chuck does best: have sex! There were a couple of cliff hangers: we're all waiting to see what happens with Vanessa and Chuck and it looks like Dan may have ironically found his long-lost little brother.

This season is getting better and better!

Celebrity Apprentice Season 2 Ep 5

I'll go ahead and cut to the chase: Dennis was finally eliminated this week. I didn't get this week's challenge AT ALL. Their job was to work at a luxury hotel as housekeepers, room service agents, bellmen, and concierge agents... Whoever provided the best customer service won the challenge. The women were definitely at an advantage because Dennis was drunk for most of the show. Joan was awesome (again)... I'm not sure what they would do without her. Dennis was so out of control that he left the hotel to have dinner with some of the guests. Now that he's gone, it looks like Trump is going to mix the teams up (according to the previews). I have a feeling that Khloe will go next if her team loses.

This week, the teams were in Thailand and if I didn't learn anything else, I learned that Thailand is hot! Tammy and Victor started off the leg in 1st place, but as usual, all of the teams caught up to them. The first challenge was to go to the zoo and find a statue of a gorilla. Mel & Mike ended up at a beach??... The other teams completed the zoo challenge w/ Jaime & Cara in 1st, and headed to the next challenge which was going to an Herb Shop. The challenge was to ask the shop owner to open the drawers one by one because there were clues hidden in six of the drawers. Unfortunately, there were 99 drawers! When Jaime & Cara arrived, Jaime started YELLING at the shop owner. I'd previously noticed that she was a little rude to the cab drivers and she had made a few insensitive comments regarding the locals in some of the cities that they'd visited, BUT.... she was a complete jerk on this episode! I felt soooo bad for the shop owner. She was so disrespectful to him and so rude! Other teams started arriving and one by one, each team received their clue before Jaime & Cara. Can you say, Karma? The detour was between transporting 100 barrels at a fishing harbor or riding in a rickshaw (one partner transporting the other) for two miles. All of the teams except Kisha & Jen and Mel & Mike chose the rickshaw challenge. Mark & Michael were in the lead, but because they didn't follow two rules, they rec'd a 60 second penalty! I was happy to see this because I'm starting to see a pattern with them, they always miss the details... Because of the penalty, Tammy & Victor came in 1st, followed by Jaime & Cara :(, then Mark & Michael. Margie & Luke came in 4th, but when Margie arrived, she was completely dehydrated and she passed out (she was OK in the end). Not to my surprise, Mel & Mike came in last place. I predict that Kisha & Jen will be going soon. They seem to have major issues.

Thank you, writers! Derek is back!
Not only did Derek and Merdith get engaged, Izzie's surgery went well, and Cristina broke up with Dr. No Eyebrows.
There were so many interesting things that happened this week, but I was most impressed by the storyline involving the elderly patient and her three nieces/nephews that came to the hospital to be by her bedside when she died. Even though they appeared to be rude, they almost had me in tears when their aunt passed away. I'm so glad that this show is getting interesting again!

Something told me that Violet and Charlotte's new friendship wouldn't last. For some strange reason, Charlotte confided in Violet by telling her that she slept with Archer. I'm still not sure why anyone would tell Violet anything because all she does is judge people. Violet continued to be jealous of Pete's one night stands. But, Pete met someone that he's actually interested in- a patient's mom.
Dell's character continues to go in a "left field" direction... Now, he's coming to work late/hung over. Can we please find a better storyline for this guy? Addison is falling harder and harder for Noah (the married guy). Noah's wife is basically on her death bed but, Noah continued to profess his love for Addison. He even showed up at her front door and kissed her (and then she made him leave). I'm eagerly waiting to see what happens next!

WHY, WHY, WHY? Please Diddy, I'm begging you at this point: Please no more Que. Can you please intercede? This guy is sooooo lame! Why in the world won't someone just sit him down and smack some sense into him. In one episode, this guy got into two different fights with strangers! Then, he comes home and almost gets beat down by one of his group members. Who does he think he is?
Let's start here:
Why does he continue to take career advice from Dawn? She's not his manager! She ruined her career! She's homeless! Her own group members won't return her calls! At this

Hell's Kitchen Season 5 Ep 8

The women's team won the "taste test" challenge after Lacey and Robert completely screwed up. Their prize was a photo shoot for the cover of TV Guide. While prepping for dinner service, Lacey continued to get on the guy's nerves. There is truly something wrong with her. During dinner service, Andrea and Carol continued to argue. LA just seemed to be standing around... On the men's team, Lacey completely screwed everything up on the meat station. She caved in and admitted that she didn't know how to cook meat. Chef Ramsey went ahead and kicked her off during the middle of dinner service- FINALLY! The women lost the dinner service challenge due to lack of teamwork. Andrea, Carol, and LA were brought down to face elimination. Chef Ramsey sent LA home. I wish he would've sent either Carol or Andrea home. They're both horrible.

Tonight's bottom three was: Michael (no shock), Scott (no shock), and Matt (What???). Why in the world was Matt in the bottom three???? I am still in shock! America- please vote for the people that you like. The biggest shocker was that Scott received more votes than Matt! Matt and Michael had the least number of votes. How is that possible? I literally jumped out of my seat when Ryan told Matt that he was safe. I'm not sure what I would've done if he went home instead of Michael. Once again, please vote!

This week, the photo challenge was called the "mirror challenge". Each model had to take a pic while looking in a mirror. It was funny to see everyone try to fake their emotions. Some people have it, and some people don't! Amanda won the photo challenge AGAIN this week. Branden came in second. Both of them got to choose someone to go with them to work the runway during Montreal Fashion Week. This week's runway challenge was "walking like a freak". Some of the models looked completely crazy. I personally didn't get the challenge AT ALL. Please stick to basic walking- we need to figure out if they can do that first... Jonathan won the runway challenge FINALLY!!!! If you ask me, he should've been winning this whole time!

America's Next Top Model Cycle 12 Ep 5

This week's episode started off with an appearance by Cycle 3 contestant, Tocarra Jones. next, we were graced with Benny Ninja's presence (it was an action packed episode). The girls had a posing challenge in front of an audience. Tahlia basically had a mental breakdown because the audience booed her. Celia was a clear standout and the audience loved her, so she clearly won the challenge. Sandra and Kortnie definitely had the worst performances. Meanwhile, back at the house, Tahlia starts telling people that she wants to go home. She is such a whiner! When she's on top, she's fine, when she doesn't perform well, we have to hear her complain.
The photo shoot challenge was at Ellis Island. The girls had to pose as early 20th century immigrants. Sandra and Kortnie also had the worst photos! Not a good week for these two.
In my opinion, Teyona , Allison, and Aminat had the best pics, but the judges picked whiny Tahlia as the winner. Very ironic that the person that wants to go home wins the challenge... Not to anyone's surprise, Kortnie and Sandra were in the bottom two. For some strange reason, they keep Sandra and get rid of Kortnie! Why are they keeping Sandra around? She is has a horrible attitude and she's a horrible model! Enough already!
The big surprise was when Celia leaves tells Tyra that Tahlia said that she wants to go home! Tyra was pissed! The girls should know (by now) that Tyra hates people that throw people under the bus... Not a smart move...
By the looks of the next episode, there's going to be major drama!

American Idol Season 8 Top 10 Performance Recap 3/25/09

This week, Matt, Danny, Adam, and Allison had the best performances. It was Motown week and I just knew that Lil Rounds was going to blow us away. Boy, was I wrong. She wasn't the worst, but I expected more. I will be totally fine this week if either Scott or Michael goes home. They were both awful. Michael may have been the worst of the night, though. He tried waaayyy too hard. He tried to do this gospel/soul rendition of the song. It was really bad. Scott's just boring. If not this week, then let's get rid of him next week.
I'm on the fence with Megan. She is also in jeopardy of going home. Put it this way, it doesn't matter when she goes because she has a 0% chance of winning the show. Kris and Anoop were in the middle. They both did a good job, but they weren't in my Top 4. Tomorrow, we get to say odbye to either Michael or Scott (hopefully).

Real Housewives of New York Season 2 Ep 6

I'm going to name this episode: Kelly, Kelly, Kelly.
Most of the group attended a Russell Simmons fashion show (I'm still trying to figure out how some of them are getting invites). Ramona and Simon got into a verbal altercation because Simon wanted to know why she doesn't like him. Not sure why he asked...
There was also an awkward moment at the Jill Stuart fashion show between Kelly and Bethenny. Bethenny clearly hates her.
Jill invited Kelly to her charity's board meeting. Kelly showed up late, acted like she didn't know why she was there, said that it was "cute" that Jill's daughter has arthritis, and said that she didn't want her name on the charity's program. Hmmm... she should write a book: How to offend everyone in the room within 60 seconds!
Next week looks interesting- another cat fight between her and Bethenny. Go Team Bethenny!

Heroes Season 3 Episode Recap "Cold Snap" 3/23/09

This week's episode was filled with surprises, twists, and turns. It reminded me of the 1st season (which a good thing). Danko found Doyle barely breathing in his house. We finally got to see where they were holding everyone with powers.
Hiro and Ando were still with "Baby Matt Parkman". The only interesting thing about that part of the show was that the baby has powers. Other than that, it was another Hiro/Ando "save the world" mission.
We finally found out who Rebel was after he broke Tracy, Mohinder, Daphne, and Matt out of Building 26. It's Micah! He's back! I'm not sure how I didn't figure it out- he's the one with the technical ability! Unfortunately, Tracy led HRG and Danko right to him. Since she felt bad, she risked her life to save him. She turned an entire parking garage to ice. The bad part was- she turned herself into an ice block, too. Tracy died on this episode. I'm still not sure if that's the last time we'll see Ali Larter, though.
Daphne didn't make it, either- she died in her hospital bed. Matt was devastated.
Angela was chased down by Danko's flunkies, but Peter swept in and saved her! It was an awesome ending to the show. I actually think that the best thing about this episode was that we didn't see Nathan. I didn't miss him at all. I DID miss Sylar, though. We need more Sylar!

This week Violet and Charlotte became "friends" by bonding at Violet's house. It was actually kind of interesting: Charlotte painted Violet's toe nails. I was happy to see that Charlotte and Cooper are staying together, though. I truly didn't understand the "Cooper moving in with Violet" storyline.
Another storyline that I'm not happy with is "Sam's new obsession with Naomi". I'd much rather see them apart, than together.
Dell's baby's mama left town with the baby. I still can't figure out what they've done to Dell's character. He's always mad or annoyed... AND he went from being a receptionist to having an office...
The most interesting part of the episode was Addison balancing her patient and her patient's husband who is in love with her. Not only is he married; he's married to her patient! He basically confessed his love for her! She tried to remove herself from the situation by dropping his wife as a patient, but in the end, she changed her mind. She not only told the wife that she'd take her back, she told the husband that she had feelings for him! I can't wait until next week! It's getting good!

"The Grandfather"
What a great episode! Nate reconnected with his grandfather and his perfect, rich cousins. They convinced Nate to venture into politics and take a summer internship at that Mayor's office. Unfortunately, that conflicts with his summer vacation plans with Vanessa. Vanessa seemed to be disturbed by Nate's decision to follow in his family's footsteps. Nate basically broke up with her on the spot.
Chuck went on a mission to find Blair and he found her with Carter Baizen. Blair proceeded to get drunk and insult everyone in her path.
Lily and Rufus decided to tell each other how many people they slept with... ummmm, not a good idea. Luckily, Rufus really loves her!
Serena found out about Dan sleeping with the teacher, although she was upset, she forgave him.
The show ended with Blair and Nate talking about how depressed they both were and they ended up hooking up. Poor Chuck!!!!

Michael Sarver kicked off "Country Night" with a song from Garth Brooks. His performance was pretty average and extremely forgettable. Allison Iraheta performed a Patty Lovelace song and she was great. She has a really strong voice for a 16 year old. Simon called her precocious, but I like her confidence... Kris Allen also performed a Garth Brooks song. He did really good- I felt like he was singing me a lullaby. Lil Rounds performed a Martina McBride song- it wasn't my favorite performance from her. It didn't seem real to me. Adam Lambert performed his own rendition of Johnny Cash's "Ring Of Fire". That was the most talked about performance of the night- for sure! I really like Adam. I think that he's "different". I can actually see him making it in the entertainment business. I can hear that song on the radio. Scott MacIntyre also performed a Martina McBride song. He's really not that good to me... Please send him home. Alexis Grace performed Dolly Parton's "Jolene". Although I like her voice, I think that it was a bad song choice. Danny Gokey performed one of my favorite country songs, "Jesus, Take the Wheel". He started off a little shaky, but he picked it up in the middle and finished soooo strong. I am predicting that he will be in the top 3! Anoop Desai blew my mind with his rendition of "Always On My Mind". He drastically improved from his "Beat It" performance. Megan Joy remained quirky while performing "Walkin' After Midnight". Not much to say about her... she'll be gone soon. Matt Giraud performed Carrie Underwood's "So Small" and he was awesome! I love him more and more each week!
Elimination Night
Michael Sarver and Alexis Grace were in the bottom two. The judges actually considered saving Alexis, but after her performance, they decided not to. I wasn't really surprised that they were in the bottom two, but I was surprised that the judges considered saving her!

Grey's is back! This week, I actually enjoyed the full episode! Christina had her 1st solo surgery, George still only has three lines/show, the Chief is still acting unbalanced, Lacey and Sloan are basically in love, Bailey is still a little annoying, Sloan reconstructed some guy's face, Cristina felt obligated to tell "the others" about Izzie's cancer- so Izzie is getting help from the rest of the staff, and Derek is still in his trailer in a depressive state! I'm not sure is I'm just happy that Izzie may be going away, or if I'm happy because they finally wrote a decent script...

Celebrity Apprentice Season 2 Ep 4

This week's challenge was to market/introduce the new ACN video phone to the ACN sales force. Claudia was the Project Manager for the Women's Team and Brian McKnight was the Project Manager for the Men's Team. At the beginning of the episode, Dennis exploded on Clint for no reason. It was scary... Dennis left the room and didn't return until the next day. Brian decided that he didn't want to work with Dennis on this task, so Dennis just stood around and didn't participate. The purpose of the task was to create a stage show to get the crowd excited, along with creating an emotional connection to the video phone. The Men's Team decided to create a video of someone in the military calling home- which was a brilliant idea (by Jesse James). They also decided to have Brian McKnight perform. The Women's Team argued during the entire task. Claudia Jordan didn't have control over the team and it was complete chaos. Claudia and Melissa argued because Melissa wanted to take control (and to be honest, she needed to). The Women performed first. Joan Rivers did a two-minute monologue and she was awesome. Unfortunately, their videos were unbelievably cheesy. When it was time for the men to perform, the crowd was moved by the military video. Then, Brian McKnight performed and the crowd was up on their feet clapping and dancing. The Men won the challenge: 85% to 15%. All of the women blamed the loss on Claudia because of her lack of leadership. Claudia blamed the loss on Melissa, mainly because she doesn't like Melissa. Everyone agreed that Joan's performance saved the day. Claudia brought Melissa and Khloe in the Board Room. Everyone agreed that Khloe is a weak player, but she probably did not need to be brought into the Board Room. In the end, Claudia was eliminated (and rightfully so).

This week the teams traveled to India for a very moving episode of the Amazing Race. I was sad to see the conditions that they people were living in (especially the kids) in India. It just proves that the conditions weren't exaggerated in Slumdog Millionaire. Since Christie and Jodi came in last place on last week, they had to complete a speed bump. They ultimately came in last place again this week and they were eliminated from the show. Michael and Mark continued to struggle again this week. I foresee them getting eliminated soon. They just don't seem to make good decisions. Tammy and Victor steamed rolled through this week's challenge and came in first; followed by Margie and Luke in second, and Mel and Mike in third.

Another week of Ashley being rude, Talita being two-faced, and Samantha is still the nice & innocent one.
Joanna and company went to Brazil Fashion Week. Samantha missed an assignment to go visit her boyfriend, and Ashley and Talita complained for hours-on-end about their assignment and about Samantha. I'm still trying to give this show a chance, but it's quite awful.

I can't believe that I just witnessed another episode featuring Que. What in the world is Diddy thinking? Does he want to piss the viewers off? Are the characters on that show so boring that they have to result in featuring Que? I am two steps away from boycotting the show. This kid is a complete idiot. He has a temper tantrum on every single episode. Only a child would say something like: it's two against three.... he basically wants to take an R&B/Pop group and make it into a Pop/Alternative group. Will's right- they'll lose the fans that they had from the 1st album- for sure. We don't need a Kanye/T-Pain/Andre 3000 rip-off group. Que wants to use the vocoder... wow... talk about copying styles....

This week, Chef Ramsey moved Giavonni over to the Women's "red" team. The contestants created Tapas dishes in their first challenge and the newly formed red team won (because of Giavonni's dish). The blue team continued to complain about Lacey. During dinner service, J complete;y screwed up and Chef Ramsey eliminated him on the spot. Ben also screwed up a few times, too. The red team had the best dinner service and the women really responded well to working with Giovanni. Chef Ramsey asked each blue team member to pick a contestant that should be eliminated. Everyone selected Lacey. Chef brought both Lacey and Ben down, but spared both of them in the end, since he had already eliminated J.

This week Karen went home and I wasn't sad at all. Her bug eyes were completely freaking me out. I still would like to see Sandhurst or Jonathan win a challenge. They completely standout to me. Colin is also growing on me. Amanda won the photo challenge and Kerryn won the runway challenge. I doubt that either of them will win the whole show.

This week we received a tour of Alex and Simon's house. How disgusting! They really do live like slobs. I'm not even sure if I wanna see the finished product of their "renovation". Also, they dropped a bombshell when they told LuAnn that they were writing a book about how to raise children in NY. Very funny- their kids are obnoxious AND they're raising their kids in a construction site.
Bethany went out on a date with another Chef- not sure why she's not interested in him. He seemed perfect for her.
All of the ladies went to a Russell Simmons/Sting party. I'm still not sure how they're getting invited to these events...
Nothing else really happened... next week, it looks like Bethany and Kelly get in a cat fight. Looking forward to that.

Gossip Girl 3/16/09 Episode Recap

"The Age of Dissonance"
Blair Waldorf was devastated when she found out that Nelly Yuki got accepted into Yale instead of her. Blair found out that someone contacted the Dean at Yale and told him about her detention. Blair proceeds to go on a witch hunt blaming everyone from Serena to Dan about the recent leaks to Yale and to Gossip Girl.
The entire episode is about all of the Seniors being forced to participate in the school play. Serena falls for the Director of the Play who was shipped in from Broadway (until she finds out that he's a self-absorbed loser). Nate becomes jealous of the Director because he thinks that Vanessa has a crush on him. In the end, they make-up after Nate realizes that he's an idiot (what a cute couple).
Carter Baizen is back to torment Chuck Bass. Chuck spent most of the episode chasing after the girl from the exclusive men's club. He finally realized that she was a gold-digger when she accepted a pay-off from Carter and the other club members. I hope that this is the end of the "Chuck not going to school" storyline. He's at his best when he's around the other main characters.
Dan continued his obsession with Rachel the teacher and slept with her in the school's costume room. He was ready to start some type of relationship until he confronted her about being the rat that sold Blair out to Blair and Gossip Girl. Once he found out how pathetic and childish she was, he dumped her. I couldn't be happier that they are getting rid of that character.
I'm sure that we may see a Dan/Serena reunion. It also looks like we're going to see more of Carter.

Celebrity Apprentice Season 2 Ep 3

This week, I felt like I was watching another episode of the Tom Green/Dennis Rodman show. I can barely even remember who's on the show because all they do is focus on both of them. This week's challenge was to sell wedding dresses for charity. Tom was the PM for the men's team and Brande was the PM for the women's team. The big storyline this week centered around Dennis Rodman walking around the streets of NY with a drink in his hand while picking up women. He also managed to get a "model" from a "club" to come and model the wedding dresses. Dennis and Tom had a crazy night out on the town which led to both of them being MIA on the next morning. Tom finally

Christie and Jodi were the first to start racing on tonight's episode, but everyone quickly caught up with them after having to wait for the train to leave.
Both Christie/Jodi and Kisha/Jen struggled throughout this leg of the race. Kisha and Jen couldn't drive a stick shift and Christie and Jodi couldn't follow directions. In this week's Road Block, one person had to run in a Russian Marathon in their underwear. It was a scary site. Most of the contestants were actually pretty comfortable with this challenge! Margie and Luke ultimately came in first, followed by Tammy and Victor in second, and Cara and Jamie in third.
Christie and Jodi came in last place, but they were saved because this was a non-elimination round. On next week's episode, they will have to complete a speed-bump (an extra task that only they have to complete). Good luck to them- it's not looking too good!

Ashley continues to be looked-over for exciting assignments. This week she acted as the personal assistant to Paula, the Market Editor. She keeps asking herself why she isn't receiving better assignments- ummmm, maybe she needs to re-evaluate her attitude. Talita had an opportunity to work with the Editor-at-Large on a Roberto Cavalli article, while Samantha worked with the Fashion department on a celebrity fashion shoot and article. Although it's interesting to see what goes on behind the scenes at a Fashion mag, I'm still looking for something a little more interesting to happen. Stay tuned...

Derek continues to act psychotic this week on another episode of Grey's! The writer's continue to ruin his character by making him more and more of a complete jerk each week! I completely understand that he has a high death rate and he's sick of Sloan sleeping with everyone, but he has to go back to work at some point... And, here we go again with the Derek-Meredith saga--he's back at the trailer and he tossed her engagement ring. Enough already with the Derek and Meredith drama! Izzie's character is dying of cancer, so now we have to hear about this for the rest of the season. If they are going to kill her off of the show, please do so immediately. I'm also perplexed by Cristina's relationship with the Dr. with no eyebrows. Even though Burke is a jerk in real life, he's still a nice-looking man. How does she go from Burke to no-eyebrows/crazy PTSD guy? It's also weird that they've made the Chief into a scatter-brained guy that just starts screaming at people for no reason on every episode. George continues to get less-and-less screen time. Sometimes, I forget that he's on the show. I don't have much to say about Torres this week other than... can we please try another storyline? I actually like her character and this new storyline is becoming a little annoying. I'll also have to evaluate how I feel about the Sloan/Lexie relationship in the weeks to come. Overall, I continue to support the show, but I still have some major concerns.

Hell's Kitchen Season 5 Ep 6

This week, the star of the show was the Jewish Grandmother that was at Hell's Kitchen to host a Bar Mitzvah for her grandson. From the beginning of the episode until the end, she had me on the floor cracking up laughing. It started off with the guys vs. girls competition in which they were asked to make chicken soup, brisket, and a burger. The Grandmother was asked to taste the food from both teams. She basically ate an entire bowl of soup and she was acting like it was the best soup that she's ever had. Then, she started tearing up the brisket. And when it came to the burger, she basically devoured it. She was great!!!
The big shocker this week was that the boys won the competition. Lacey was ecstatic because she finally got a chance to rub it into the girl's faces.
When it came down to the Service, we got an opportunity to see Grandma again. She really seemed to be enjoying her dinner, too! Carol and Andrea got into several arguments throughout the whole show. The funny thing about those two is that they are the same age, but Carol looks like she could be Andrea's daughter (mean).
Coi struggled with Service throughout the night. She really had problems just simply cooking a burger. In the end, Chef Ramsey declared that the women had the best service. He asked Andrea to pick two people for elimination and she selected Coi and LA. Despite a last ditch effort from Coi to try to throw Andrea under the bus, she was eliminated.

Survivor Season 18 Ep 5

There were a lot of ups and downs on this episode. If I had to sum it up, I'd say that this episode was primarily about the "secret alliance" between Taj, Stephan, Brendan, and Sierra. Taj and Stephan found the hidden immunity idol and Taj (like an idiot) gave it to Stephan to "hide" in his pocket...
The Jalapao tribe won the reward challenge and they selected Brendan to go back to Exile Island...again. Brendan selected Stephan to join him and eyebrows began to raise because his tribe felt like that was a strange choice. Stephan appeared to be on-board with the secret alliance when he was speaking with Brendan, but he sent off a different message in his confessionals. He basically said that he's going to keep the idol and that he'll use the secret alliance if "he needs to".
Meanwhile, the Jalapao tribe went off to their reward challenge and Taj started to get on her tribemate's nerves. I'm not sure that she understands the game... you have to lay low- especially when you've been out on exile island for the majority of the game and you haven't had a chance to bond with your team.
At the immunity challenge, Jalapao lost once again after a remarkable effort and display of athleticism from JT (I felt bad for him). When they got back to camp, JT went on a rampage about how horrible Spencer performed. Taj went on a rampage about.... ummm... I still haven't figured it out. She was just mad for absolutely no reason... She put a very large X on her back. When they went to tribal council, I really didn't know who would get voted off. It was between Spencer and Taj. I figured that it would be Spencer, but because Taj had a complete blow-up for no reason, coupled with a bad attitude, I wasn't sure. In the end, Spencer was sent home. I'm not sure if it was much of a loss for the team.

We are really getting the opportunity to watch these kids unravel before our eyes. I'm not sure if Puff wants us to hate Que or what? Why are they exposing us to this child? He's stomping around like a big baby on every episode. Dawn must be extremely desperate to be dating a 15 year old. He almost got beat down by Willie... and he should've. Someone needs to knock some sense into that kid. He kept saying that Willie's jealous. What in the world would Willie be jealous of Que for? Just like Que saying the Aubrey was jealous of Dawn... why in the world would Aubrey be jealous of Dawn. Look at them now... Dawn is basically homeless (along with Aundrea). They're living at an apartment with six other people and it looks like they're just sitting around all day. I've figured it out, Puff is trying to give Aundrea and Dawn screen time so that everyone can see that they have personality. It's almost like someone told them, girls: we need you to pretend to be best friends, laugh all the time, try to make jokes, etc. Sorry, it's a little too late: we already know that they have the personalities of a brick wall. This season is definitely not going to make us fall in love with those two. They don't have enough charisma to make a group on their own. Sorry...
I still have to keep saying: Poor Donnie! He's trying so unbelievably hard with little-to-no support. I hope something works out for him.
The sad thing about this whole situation is that Day 26 had a great first album and from what I can see, the 2nd album will be just as good if not better. The first two singles sound really good. They just have some lame-o's in the group. Oh yeah, and what's up with the big, crazy hats??? And, they've become community hats- they're all sharing them.... Why??? Not cute....

Make Me a Supermodel Season 2 Ep 2

So, this was the candy episode! I was happy to see Jordan win the photo challenge, although I agree with the people at the go-see, her shape is a little different.
The big surprise was to see Tabatha walk in and critique the models! I absolutely love Tabatha, she's so mean! I was surprised to hear CJ's comments about blondes vs. brunettes. She's a little rude.
Branden won the catwalk challenge. It was between him and Jonathan and it was very close. I love Jonathan's makeover. His hair looks so much healthier. I'm still pulling for Sandhurst- I think he's a natural.
Chris was eliminated this week. They tried very hard to change his look by giving him the makeover, but no one will ever be able to erase his overly androgynous look- it's impossible!
Good luck Chris!

American Idol Season 8 Top 12: Results Show

Elimination night! My favorite. No shockers for me tonight (except Kanye wearing jeans with no belt). Although I like Jasmine and think that she is a cute, sweet girl, she just wasn't ready for prime time. Her performance reminded me of a HS talent show performance. Do I think that she should've been the 1st one to go? No- not really, but she wasn't going to win, so why not go, now? I would've liked to see Scott go before her. He seems like a "good person", but he's not ready to make a hit pop album. I wasn't shocked to see Jorge go at all. I was still trying to understand how he even made it this far. Maybe Anoop will cut the gimmicks out of his routine now that he's tasted the fear of elimination. One of my favorite parts of the show was the announcement that the judges will get to save one person this season. It's basically gives them another opportunity to humiliate the person that is standing up there facing elimination. They're already in tears because they didn't receive enough votes, now they have to stand there while the judges basically tell them that they didn't have a snowball's chance in hell to win the show! Love it!

History repeats itself this season on the infamous "makeover" episode. Fo had an emotional breakdown when they cut her hair. Why does someone do this every freakin season? Has she never watched the show? Who cries at a photo shoot? What did her hair have to do with taking a picture? Very annoying, especially since she's such a pretty girl. She looked better than all of the other girls at judges table. Speaking of judges table, Nole Marin was hilarious. It was good to have him back. It's been a long time since I heard a judge say: that was an ugly picture. You can't be more direct than that! I was hoping to see Sandra go home this week, but I guess some of the other pics were worse. She seems a little bit evil to me. I wasn't sad to see Jessica go home. Enough already with the whole, "I'm prettier than everyone else" bit.

Real Housewives of New York Season 2 Ep 4

The claws continue to come out each week on the Real Housewives of NY. Bethany appeared to be thrilled about landing the cover of Social Life magazine. I must admit, I would be too. LuAnn took a little bit-of-joy away from Bethany by telling her that her pics would probably need to be airbrushed. She also basically stormed out of the Social Life party after only being there for five mins. I've been trying to give LuAnn the benefit of the doubt, but she's driving me crazy with this whole manners and etiquette thing... It's just a little over-the-top.
I'm still surprised that Alex and Simon continue to show their dirty, old, disgusting house on national television. They basically live in a shack. They must spend all of their money on clothes and eating at expensive restaurants- oh yeah, and the BMW. They are the biggest posers on TV right now. I'm still recovering from watching them stay at a complete dump while they were in the Hampton's. What kind of "vacation rental" was that? They should've found a Marriott. I would be scared to sleep there...but- to them that was probably just as nice as their house in the city. I wish that they'd limit their camera time on the show- they thrive for the camera time and attention.

The best part of the episode was when 'Crazy Ramona' told LuAnn that her husband was old. That was classic. Who insults some one's husband in front of their child??? I probably would've slapped her if I was LuAnn. Even though LuAnn was being rude by saying that people who go on multiple dates are tramps, she didn't deserve to be told that her husband is an old geezer.

Michael Jackson Night! There are some songs that should be considered "Michael-only" songs; i.e. Beat It... I think that Anoop's cool and everything, but he has to cut it out with the gimmicks- Enough already!
The group actually did better than I thought they would. I cringed when I heard the words: Michael Jackson, but I forgot that he had so many songs that are so diverse! I would rank the performances like this: Danny, Lil Rounds, Matt, Allison, Adam, Kris, Alexis, Jasmine... Doesn't matter after that.

American Idol firsts: Simon tells Megan that her song choice (Rockin Robin) was stupid!
BTW, I'm still getting used to Kara as a judge. The lisp is killing me!

Heroes Season 3 Episode Recap "Shades of Gray" 3/9/09

Angela Petrelli and HRG are such sneaky characters. I never know what they are up to! Even though I'm a little unclear on the reasoning behind this season's storyline (and Nathan's involvement/why he would want to do this), I am still overly pleased with the improvement from last season.
I really missed Peter on this episode, though. We need more Peter! I guess as long as I'm getting my Sylar fix, I'll be OK. I absolutely love the storyline with his father. I love the way he just left him there to die. Now we get to see him face off with Danko on the next episode. Can't wait! I'm still trying to figure out what happened to Maya Herrera??? Characters just seem to disappear on this show...
Claire continues to play the "tough girl" on the show. I'll be interested to see what her role is for the rest of the season. Apparently, she's going to fly off with Nathan.
I hate to say this, but I'm glad that they are limiting Hiro's screen time this season. We just had a little too much of him in Season 2 with the whole Japan bit...

Overview from MTV.com: Challenged by Diddy to sell more albums, Donnie hits the road to build his fan base. Meanwhile, financial problems arise for Qwanell, as contract re-negotiations for Day26's second album bring the recording process to a halt.

OK, now where do I start...
I was surprised to see that Donnie Klang has resulted to mall gigs and sweet sixteen's. I appreciate his work ethic, but it's just sad that the label can't book "real" shows for him. Where in the world is the label support? We've all heard about how bad that label is, but now we are really getting to see it first hand.

I am to the point where I don't even want to see Dawn or Aundrea's faces anymore. I can't believe that neither of them realize that they are the cause of the breakup- and it's so ironic because they are the two that "needed" the group the most. Shannon is married with a family and a life, Aubrey has marketed herself so she is busy with a clothing line, charities, appearances, magazine covers, etc., and D-Woods is in Atl working with other artists and appearing in videos. Every week we have to hear Dawn try to make up reasons why they broke up and blame everyone else for the breakup. Her and Aundrea said all-of five words to Puff throughout two seasons and on the one day that they decide to speak, they start bashing the other members of the group and insinuating that they can no longer work together. What a complete mess.

Day 26: those poor guys (literally). I was very surprised to see that Puff felt comfortable enough to air the label's dirty laundry on national TV. Once again, we are seeing the reality of the business: people with shady deals don't get paid. I just feel bad for these kids because they really thought that they were going to be rich. The worst part of the episode was watching Que whine and complain and cry for 30 mins. He is such an immature person. I have a feeling that we're going to see more temper tantrums from him this season. The sad thing is, I'm not sure if he sees himself as an annoying person that personifies "bitchassness". Que and Dawn are made for each other.

Not sure if anyone noticed, but Will (who I love) was laughing at Que and Brian while they were screaming at each other. Very funny- I would've been laughing too... Speaking of Brian, we may have to get him into anger management classes- his screaming is getting out of control.

One thing that we got to see was that the boys can still dance. They are very talented artists, I just hope that they start getting paid for their work.

Survivor Season 18 Ep 4

So, I'm still a little disappointed about Jerry giving up last week which ultimately led to him getting voted off. But anyway, this was basically the "Coach" episode. Every season, they cast an obnoxious character that "wants to be a leader". I'm not sure how anyone could follow this guy. I knew that something was wrong with him when he started calling Tyson "assistant coach". He's pretty-much losing it. I've also noticed that he generally sucks in every challenge. The girls are out-performing him. When he goes back to camp after a challenge, he does a soliloquy about how bad the girls performed... Ummm, coach: they did better than you. how many more weeks do we have to see him? I'm sure that they will get rid of him after the merge. I foresee the girls teaming up and getting rid of him. He appears to be a bit of a chauvinist.
All I can say is: go Taj! I am so proud of her for teaming up with Stephen and forming the "exile alliance"! I am still surprised that no one on the show knows that she was in a chart-topping R&B group- it's just so funny and surprising. All they know is that she is married to Eddie George.
Although Sydney gets on my nerves, I wasn't sad that Sandy got voted off. She was bound to go anyway, sooooo.....

The Amazing Race 14 Ep 4

Every week, I feel that I start rooting for a new team. Normally, the majority of the teams on The Amazing Race tend to get on my nerves, but not this season (at least, not yet). I continue to enjoy watching the brother-sister dynamic unfold between Tammy and Victor. Originally, I thought that his aggressive approach would bother me, but I actually feel like they had a bit of a break through on episode 3. I must admit- he was rather calm on this episode.
I was really worried for Margie and Luke on the bobsled challenge. Luke appeared to be overly frustrated. I'm glad that he pulled it out. It didn't bother me that they used the "U-Turn" on Amanda and Kris. To be honest, it was a very strategic move. I think we all got an opportunity to see how good they were when we watched them complete the wood stacking challenge so quickly on their 2nd try.
I'm still trying to figure out how Christie and Jodi beat Kisha and Jen to the pit stop... but, oh well. Overall, I was happy with this week's outcome.

Make Me a Supermodel Season 2 Ep 1

Make Me a Supermodel started off strong with their Season 2 opener. This season they've added Australian supermodel, Nicole Trunfio as a mentor to the girls. And of course, Tyson has returned as a mentor to the boys.

At first glance, Sandhurst appears to be the standout male on the show. He appears to be rather experienced. I'm still a little up-in-the-air in regards to standout females. Salome certainly photographs well, but she definitely needs some work in the attitude department. It's also too early to tell who the catwalk standouts will be. Generally, as the season goes on, the contestants will improve (at least that's what happened last season).
I'm glad that they eliminated the robot-looking guy! I'm still a little disturbed by the girl-guy. Not sure that he would inspire me to buy the clothes that he's wearing.

Overall, good start- I've decided to keep this season on the DVR list!

Hell's Kitchen Season 5 Ep 5

We're stuck with Lacey for one more week, but at least we got rid of someone else that possesses absolutely no cooking skills. Robert a.k.a. Bobby seems to have some major daddy issues. I understand that his dad was a jerk, but did he have to moon us? That was a very scary site. I couldn't believe that Andrea was hiding the burnt Wellington's! How in the world did she burn sooooo many? Not too much else happened on this episode (with the exception of the girls continuing to verbally abuse each other- they are true potty mouths). I was just happy to see Colleen go home. I feel a little bit bad for her because by now, all of her students that pay for her services at her cooking school have quit.

Running in Heels Ep 2

I had an opp to preview the 3/8 episode this morning. I must say, Ashley's just plain rude. She was definitely casted as the villain of the show. On the first episode, her arch enemy was Samantha. On today's episode it was Talita. I can already tell that she will always be at the center of every controversy.

America's Next Top Model Cycle 12 Ep 1

Time for another season of Tyra! The show seems to be becoming more and more about her each season, oh- I mean cycle...
Each cycle, there's at least two people that we all question why they're on the show. We should all realize by now that she enjoys putting train wrecks on the show and then commenting about how they can't model before she kicks them off.
It took me around 5 cycles to realize that she doesn't want to put 10-20 good looking models that can actually book gigs, etc on her show. She wants to mix in some complete disasters and try to "fix" them in 4-5 weeks. Although I applaud her willingness to work with individuals that would not receive a shot anywhere else, it does get old after 11 cycles.
On this week's episode, I really feel that Sandra should've been eliminated. Her walk was horrendous, her picture was horrendous, and her attitude was horrendous. But, by now I know how things work. We have to have a drama queen on each cycle, so we know that she'll be around for a while.

Celebrity Apprentice Season 2 Ep 1

The second season of the Celebrity Apprentice started on 3/1. There are few more "celebrities" on this season and I think that they have an advantage- they know that all they have to do is call their celebrity friends and get them to donate $. That takes the fun out of it because the show is solely based on star power.

With that said, I know that celebs aren't jumping at the bit to be on Celebrity Apprentice, but did The Donald really have to put a Deal or No Deal Model on the show? How in the world is she going to raise any money? Is she going to call Howie Mandel? Has she done something else with her career that we're not aware of?

I try not to put spoilers on my blog (for the TIVO/DVR fanatics), but did Trump actually think that Andrew Dice Clay would be able to put forth an effort? That guy was just on the show to promote himself and remind us over and over again that he sold out Madison Square Garden.

This will be an interesting season, I think that we'll definitely see some more arguments involving Annie Duke. She can be a little aggressive at times.

Gone Country 3 Finale

CMT : Gone Country 3 : Show : John Rich Hosts Sheila E., Tara Conner, George Clinton, Taylor Dayne, Micky Dolenz and More

So another season of Gone Country comes to a close. The talent wasn't that bad this season. I must say that I'm still perplexed about George Clinton's role on the show. Overall, there was some pretty good songwriting.
It was good to see Mickey Dolenz. He was always one of my favs from the Monkees. His song was pretty good and I can see a future for him in Country. He was one of the more authentic contestants this season.
Taylor Dane can really sing. I really see her as more of a Pop/R&B artist, though.
I really think that Tara Conner has potential, she just needs some vocal coaching. I think that the country audience would accept her.
Richard Grieco's song was very moving. It took courage for him to come on the show, let alone to write & perform something so personal.
I was surprised to see Justin Guarini on the show. He was probably the least country of all of the contestants (besides George, of course). His song was pretty good, though.
I was happy to see Sebastian Bach on the finale. It was good to hear that he's working. I'm not quite sure what happened to Season 1's winner. Never heard from him.

Mickey, Shelia, and Taylor were the strongest contestants. I'm happy with the winner. I found Shelia E. to be the most interesting contestant just because you can tell that she is extremely passionate about music in general. I can truly see her performing any type of music. She also seems like a genuinely nice person.

The Watchmen Review

So, last night we went to see "The Watchmen". What a complete nightmare. It was so bad that we were in shock. Looking back, I'm not sure what I was expecting. I was pretty much confused from the beginning. I thought that the movie was going to be similar to other comic book movies; i.e. heroes vs. villains. Unfortunately, that concept wasn't introduced in that movie until after approx. 2 hours in... Yes, it was almost a 3 hr movie... Also, there was tons of unnecessary nudity. I personally do not have a problem with nudity, but at one point I started feeling uncomfortable for the kids in the theater that thought they were there to see a Spiderman-like movie. Boy, were they wrong. One character was full-frontal nude for the last 30-45 mins of the movie. I just question the writers... What were they thinking??? I'd be surprised if anyone thought that this was a good movie.
